Mukavai carved "Shona Girl" from one block of spring stone and lets the two finishes do the talking, rough against smooth, pale against dark, all the way down to the unworked rock she rises from.
Her torso opens into a carved hollow that deepens the piece from every angle. At three feet two inches tall, she holds a room's attention from any corner of it.
