The stool is hand carved in Zimbabwe from Red Jarrah, a dense hardwood indigenous to Australia, and its deep reddish brown color and rich grain bring warmth to any kitchen. The wood is substantial and heavy, giving the solid, luxurious feel of a piece built from nothing but solid wood. The surface is finished to a soft sheen that deepens with use.
