York's Shona Gallery presents the Antique Railroad "Bookcase," a piece that does the work of three. Three open shelves at the top hold books and treasured objects. In the middle is a protruding desk area with two drawers, and two cabinets below keep everything else out of sight.
An arched crown and matching wood knobs finish the piece, which is carved from Red Jarrah with the grain showing clearly across every surface. The wood is dense and heavy, giving the solid, luxurious feel of a piece built from nothing but solid wood.
Standing 73" tall, it suits a living room, study or dining room.
